StartUp Box is a social enterprise designed to increase opportunities for disadvantaged minorities to become a part of the tech economy, by seeding technology and entrepreneurial ecosystems in low-status communities.
We create accessible on-ramps to tech jobs through on the job training in Quality Assurance (QA) in B2B relationships with software developers. "StartUp Boxers" test products across a range of devices and operating systems from start to finish, using industry protocols for bug reporting, while gaining exposure to product failures not normally observed by consumers. Teamwork is essential in tackling error detection challenges across platforms, so communications, record keeping, and related team management skills are reinforced.
QA is a great career path to get started on, and it is also a demonstrated entry-level position that exposes individuals to a wide range of other opportunities in tech as well.
